It's no secret that I heart thrift stores.
The musty smell, shelves piled high with both trash and treasure waiting to be sifted, the instrumental version of "As the Deer" playing softly in the background...it all works together for me.
A few weeks back, a good friend offered to babysit in the evening so I could get out for a bit without kids. I ran my mandatory errands, and decided to hit a few thrift stores when I was all done. Because lets face it, humming "As the Deer" while parusing isn't quite as satisfying when you have to stop every 2 minutes to say "No, you may not have that smelly stuffed dog, even if it is only a quarter."
Once again, the thrift store did not disappoint. I had a wonderful time digging, and I am pleased with my new treasure trove of lovlies.
For a few bucks, I scored a sweet old hamper for Sydney, a darling outfit for the little gals, and a few bags full of vintage sewing treasures! Clearly someone was cleaning out their attic.
I scored a scrap bag full of vintage quilting squares...
this one is my favorite :)
Naturally, I've already started turning them into flowers :)
I've started making a new kind of flower to attach to headbands.
Happy Thursday all!
